Sooo today is apparently 'officially the happiest Monday of the year.
The reasons behind our collective cheer? Well - we have all received our first pay cheque of the year (after an early pre-Christmas one which had to stretch and stretch!), many have booked their summer holidays and have that to look forward to and from tomorrow we can all put January behind us and look forward to spring and the rest of the year.' (quoted from Netmums. www.netmums.com)
Now I didn't read this until part way through the day but bizarrely I woke up in a good mood today. It can't be the pay cheque reason- that ship sailed when I realised the extortionate cost of childcare and had to reluctantly give up work to be a stay at home mummy!
I booked my holiday last year. It's just to a cottage in Suffolk. And there's the small matter of the kids coming too (it's frowned upon when we leave them behind!) So holiday (a word that conjurs up images of beaches, hot weather, relaxing lazy days..) probably isn't the best way to describe it. Same stress, different location probably sums it up better. Oh, and we are going in April! That being said I am still looking forward to it and have idyllic pictures in my mind of us all relaxing and running along beaches (in our wellies!), the wind in our hair and squeals of laughter coming from my charming, content children! Clearly I am confusing my life with a television commercial but I'm sure it will be fun..in its own special way....
I certainly have lots to look forward to this year. I have at least 3 weddings to attend, my daughter will turn 5 (just 40 sleeps by the way!) and my boys will turn 2 in May, which hardly seems possible. I do definitely like it when spring appears... Or perhaps it is because I hauled my backside out of bed when my husband's alarm went off at 6.05am and did 20 minutes on wii zumba! (Get me!!) Or maybe I was just having a day when I realised I have lots to be thankful for. Either way I like it and am hopeful for happy Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday...you get the idea! :-)
